Perfect needs a little attention right out of the box, spray the inside with wd-40 and the complete rod. March 25, 2010 R. Roth (Batesville,Indiana) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this,as soon as i took it out of the box,I sprayed the inside of the reel with wd-40 as well as the whole pole itself.,Have caught a 4 1/2 pound bass and actually used it catfishing, reeled in a 6 lb. channel cat no problem!Since then i have bought 2 more, did the same thing to those as the first and have had not one problem with all 3.Found that it will hold 8lb line,I actually used 8lb line with the diameter of 6lb and they are AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!,Will be buying 3 more today after this comment. Thanks Amazon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why? October 12, 2009 R. Tissnes 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Ok, reading most of these reviews i thought this was going to suck but i wanted to try it anyway. So far i have caught some sunfish and a decent sized perch. It hasnt broke yet and seems reliable. I dont know why other people write how theirs broke in a minutes. Its common sense, this thing is cool but its not meant for deep sea fishing. I use it to lake fish and it has been great and reliable. And again, this isn't a heavy duty fishing rod, use your brain, its great for recreational lake fishing.
pocket fishing rod August 23, 2009 M. H. Vaillant (Florida) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
just to see what it would do....rod broke on the first catch of a four oz. denizen, the reel seems better quality than the rod. This item is toy-like and not for serious work of any kind. Good for kids play and catching garden lizards.
Coleman Fish Pen - Don't waste your money June 15, 2009 J. Luehrs (Dayton, OH USA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
The Coleman Fish pen seems like a neat idea until you actually try using it. I used it once and could barely reel in a small bluegill. After using it, the fish pen would not retract completely and I broke it trying to get it to break down to its small size to put the cap on..
neat idea but with poor quality.
30 day warranty is useless as i got it for christmas and used it in April...
I am surprised that coleman would allow such a poor quality product to wear its name..
A fair investment May 10, 2009 whopper (Boston,MA) 1 out of 6 found this review helpful
I took this little gem with me on a trip to Alaska. I used it to hook and land a 209lb Halibut (not a trophy but large), I refrain from giving it a 5 star because the end eyelet bent a little. I suggest you buy but only if it is on sale.
