screen quickly became fogged. weight would keep changing meaning you guess at what this fish weighed. Last fish on the scale was a drum and the chain pulled out of the bottom of the scale. Not for me.
did not use for fishing March 16, 2010 Aaron M. Lamb Our company used these fish scales to measure linear pull when flying kites with variable winds. It worked great. You can input various memorized trials and then the scale can give you an average. This was quite helpful in our product development, and the data was just as accurate as the NASA kite module we used for calculations. Although designed for fish, the end hook worked perfectly for our needs. I highly recommend this product.
Top notch scale for travelers and backpackers September 14, 2009 R. Ross (Los Angeles, CA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've been backpacking and world traveling for many-many years and have a whole set of "fish scales" for weighing my items that weigh from a few ounces to 20 pounds. When I needed a scale with a 50-pound range for complete backpacks and airline luggage I opted for the Berkley 50 lb scale. It works great, with 1 oz resolution, and is pretty accurate. When I first bought my unit, my wife took it to work and used her professional calibration weights to check its accuracy. Mine was dead-on at 5 pounds, high by 1 oz at 15 pounds, and high by 2 oz at 40 pounds. Yours will likely be different, but I consider that very good for a $20 scale and more than adequate for my needs. Also, the handle is big and comfortable enough to easily lift 50 pounds and the hook works fine for lifting things. Used it also (very carefully) to weigh my nephew's new born. Probably, also works for fish.
